Session Notes

session date: 20050626-20050805 the recording: Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

Location

Home-Fry's Recording Booth, Lone Butte near Santa Fe NM.

room type: 3/4" plywood constructed recording booth with two layers of acoustic sound board floated 2 inches apart. Treated for diffusion largely with book shelves and drapery. Floor is brick with a throw rug in center.

room dimensions: 6x8x8

room acoustics: Fairly flat sounding this home made booth exibits a little resonation in the upper-mid frequency range which is fine for relatively soft spoken audio book narration work.

notes: This is the first recording funded by Gordon W. Draper and proposed by Todd Fadoir of LoudLit.org fame. I decided to build the 6x8 booth to allow us time and dedicated quiet to pull off this long recording. The cost of otherwise renting a studio fairly offset the cost of building this booth.
